Abby's First Day

So this is what Abby told me about her first day of First Grade. "It was good, we had three recesses, but I only got to have two." In which I asked her why, " I was eating my lunch, and they told me I needed to eat it all, and no one would wait for me to finish, and then I didn't know what I was supposed to do, so I just sat there. Then big kids started coming, and soon I saw my teacher looking for me. She couldn't find me anywhere. Recess was already over, so I just had to go to class." I felt bad for her, but I let her know, that now she will know what to do in case she gets left again. But she made sure that I packed her a lunch today, with fast things to eat, to ensure that she wasn't the last one again. She loved having her own desk, and I think will make friends fast. I can't believe that I have a first grader already. Time flies by so fast.

First Day of School!

We are so excited to be finally on our way to school. It's nice that we are so close that we can still walk.
Abby and Jakelle, they aren't in the same class this year, but are very excited to make new friends. They are excited to still walk to and from school together, and their classes are next door to each other too.
It took us three tries, but we (she) finally decided on an outfit. She looked very cute.
Standing next to her new desk.
This is Abby's teacher, Mrs. Dahle. She seems very nice, Abby is just thrilled about having school lunch.

$100 dollars

Yesterday I had Abby ride her bike over to my friends house and borrow some eggs for me. When Abby was headed back, She (my friend) told Abby, "Your mom owes my $100 dollars for the eggs, they are special eggs that are gold with diamonds in them." Abby came home and told me, and I laughed, then she added "But Mom, I looked at the eggs, and they are really only white, I think she was teasing me!" I thought that it was cute, she had to check it out, to see if they were really gold or not.

Boys!

So these pictures don't do it justice, but Nate fell out of the back of Rich's truck Saturday ( I wasn't home) so we aren't really sure how he did it, we just know he landed on his head! The bump on the top was sticking out about 1-2 inches, (not an exaggeration) and it just looked like road rash down the side of his face. I felt so bad for him, he had quite the headache but as you can see in the bottom picture, he is showing his muscles to show he is tough. It is looking better every day, but now it is turning into a pretty good black eye. I guess this is the joy of having boys.

Guitar Hero

Rich's latest obsession is Guitar Hero. Well, as I walked downstairs today, this is what I found. Rich is playing, and Nathan has Leah's little guitar, rocking out just like his dad. I thought that it was so cute, I had to run and find the camera.

FHE!

Last Night for Family Night, we decided to let the kids decide a fun activity to do. They chose the Celebration Centre. Nate and Abby had fun racing each other around the go-cart track, and then Rich joined them on the swing. They had so much fun, until it went backwards. I thought Nate was going to try to jump out. I have a video of it, it just won't load right now. They had a lot of fun, and to finish off the night, we went and had ice cream with Grandma and Grandpa Rowley, and Ron and Mindy. It was a fun night, and a good break from the house. It has been a great summer, but it has gone by quickly. Abby will be starting first grade in a couple of weeks. It will be so different not having her around all day. I think that Nate is going to miss her the most. I need to get him in a good preschool, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it!

Hair Cut!

Abby got her hair cut yesterday. It turned out very cute! She is excited for school to start, so she can show it off!
